Beyond the EnvironmentOur Challenge to Protect the "Cycle of Life" with Hydrogen Nanobubbles

1. Why CWM Focuses on Medical Innovation

At Clean Water Mechanism, our mission is to implement water purification technologies into society. However, our technology aims to protect more than just "the environment," such as rivers and oceans.

It is about protecting the precious lives and health of the people who use that water. Today, we would like to share our initiative to address Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR) using our proprietary nanobubble technology.

2. A Hidden Global Crisis: 20 Million Underdeveloped Infants Annually

Currently, approximately 20 million babies worldwide are born with Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR)—failing to grow sufficiently in the womb. In developing regions with inadequate medical infrastructure, this is a major cause of infant mortality.

The urgency of this issue is recognized globally.
For instance, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has launched a grand challenge titled"Novel Interventions Targeting Placental and Gut Inflammation to Improve Fetal Growth," actively seeking innovative solutions from around the world to address this crisis.

  • The Chain of Inflammation:
In areas with poor sanitation, mothers are frequently exposed to pathogens. This causes the immune system to overreact, leading to chronic inflammation of the gut and placenta.

  • Cutting Off Nutrition:
When the umbilical cord and placenta—which should deliver vital nutrients—are damaged by inflammation, the "life pipeline" to the baby ceases to function correctly.

3. Our Solution: The Ultimate Anti-Inflammatory Power of Hydrogen Nanobubbles

The wildcard to stopping this inflammation is Hydrogen gas (H2).

  • Direct Neutralization:
Hydrogen has the unique ability to directly attack and neutralize the substances that cause inflammation.
This efficacy is supported by numerous scientific research papers.

  • A Two-Pronged Approach:
    1. Oral Intake:
Drinking hydrogen-infused water for daily care.

    2. Local Infusion:
Administering hydrogen via IV drip near the affected area for high-urgency cases.
By combining these two methods, we aim to support maternal and fetal health from the ground up.

4. Overcoming Medical Skepticism with Nano-Technology

A common concern in the medical field is: "Is it dangerous to inject gas (bubbles) into a blood vessel?" Our nanobubble technology provides a clear, theoretical answer.

  • Non-Coalescing Bubbles:
Our nanobubbles carry a negative electrical charge, causing them to repel each other.
This prevents them from merging into larger bubbles, making the risk of an embolism extremely unlikely.

  • Peerless Diffusibility:
Hydrogen is the smallest element in the universe.
It penetrates every corner of the cells rapidly, diffusing through the body without obstructing blood vessels.

5. A Versatile Platform

The potential of our hydrogen nanobubble technology extends far beyond FGR. As a platform for controlling inflammation and oxidative stress, it has the potential to be applied to various other medical conditions, including:

  • Prevention of Diabetic Complications
Reducing vascular damage caused by chronic oxidative stress.

  • Sepsis
    Suppressing rapid, systemic inflammatory responses.
Sepsis is a daily cause of death globally, often claiming the lives of young people in both developing and developed nations.

  • Wound and Burn Care
Cleaning affected areas while simultaneously reducing inflammation to accelerate healing.

While previous research has shown that hydrogen effectively calms inflammation, there has lacked a method to introduce hydrogen gas into the body stably and safely—until now.

6. Designing a Sustainable Social Implementation

No matter how superior a technology is, it is meaningless if it is too expensive or difficult to use. We are building a system that can be used anywhere in the world.

  • On-site Production:
We are developing low-cost devices priced under $3,000 (approx. ¥480,000). This allows local clinics to generate fresh hydrogen water on-site.

  • Open Philosophy:
To ensure these benefits reach everyone, we offer the business model that includes open licensing for partners interested in manufacturing and distribution.

7. Changing the Future Through the Power of Water

Cleaning the environment and keeping the human body healthy are not separate challenges—they are part of one great "Cycle of Life".

At CWM, we will continue to believe in the power of these tiny bubbles to create a future where every child in the world has the chance to be born healthy and strong.

CWM is currently seeking business partners to bring about significant social change using our "Nano-Inset" technology.
